Last Sunday, January 11th, Club Escacs Pardinyes achieved one of the best performances in its recent history at the Lleida Phase of the Catalan Cup, held at the Institut Lo Pla d'Urgell in Bellpuig. With a record delegation of 6 teams, the club demonstrated its good health by achieving podiums in all categories and, most importantly, the ticket to the grand Final for two of our sets.
Youth dominance and senior reliability
The club's youth academy once again proved it has no ceiling. Our 3rd Territorial team, composed entirely of players from the "subs" categories, was proclaimed Champion of its category, demonstrating the great future ahead of us.
For its part, Pardinyes C achieved a meritorious second position in Second Territorial, thus adding the second direct qualification for the final day. We cannot forget the great role of Pardinyes B1, which fought against the strongest rivals in the category to climb the podium as 3rd placed in First Territorial.

The Grand Final awaits us
The event, which brought together more than 160 players from 40 teams from all over the province, was marked by good sportsmanship and the impeccable organization of CE Bellpuig and the Bellpuig City Council. Club Escacs Lleida was the absolute winner of this phase.
Now, Club Escacs Pardinyes' sights are already set on April 26th, 2026. Our two qualified teams will travel to a venue yet to be determined to compete against the 60 best teams from all over Catalonia, in a day that will bring together more than 240 players.
